- insert snarky comment about the only good use for a Korg Microkorgautoflavour
- prophetone1
- its amazing how a machine with so many presets and so many options is instantly recognisable .. I had one back in the day, and its just the sound of the mc303autoflavour
- yep, I especially love the first vid, just goes to show can still sounds fresh if you’re creative with it... i have one, just bought a cheap 2nd one a week agoprophetone
- i might buy a 3rd if cheap deal pops up, they’re going locally for like $150 so why the heck not?prophetone
- i feel like these’ll suddenly get popular again and start going for $3k or somethingprophetone
- revisited the mc505 about a year ago as it was cheap.. but it just drove me nuts .. the architecture just seemed so limiting after using more modern hardwareautoflavour
- ended up swapping it for some electrical work I needed done around the houseautoflavour
- wow, these vids are great. I had 2 at one point many years back as well. Got them each for around $80. Under appreciated little gemsfuturefood
- back in 1996 tho, the MC303 was the shit.. remember Grand Royal did that project where they gave a bunch of artists one to make a compautoflavour
- https://open.spotify…autoflavour
- had some pretty big names at the time, sonic youth, pavement, air, beck.. was pretty ordinary from memory thoautoflavour
- mind you that was the MC505, not 303autoflavour
- prophetone1
- I usually have a lot of time for Honeysmack.. his insta is great. but that second RDm2 video is just annoying.autoflavour
- Ohhh man, just when I’m trying to get away from drum machines lol. Fuuuuckfuturefood

I’d take this over the Behringer knockoffs any day.

Did a bit of haxxor last night.. made a bracket to add my make noise skiff to the top of the amalgamod case..
I think I have enough modules now
Well, at least for the momentStill waiting on a MI beads to arrive from Canada
- Very impressive systemkingsteven
- Maturing nicely! Mine has grown a bit. Will post a pic shortly.mort_
- @auto Do you have studio versions of your your house / techno tracks up online anywhere? Loving the live YouTube vids you posted.mort_
- nah not really,... have to actually finish them past 64 bar or 128 bar loops
I should.. just the few moments I do get in the studio I either spend learningautoflavour - modular or trying to make new music. I should really finish something tho.. its been a minuteautoflavour
- Yeah, finishing things isn't my strong point. that's putting it lightly.
That Amalgamod case looks the business. How much are they? Don't see pricing online.mort_

Not nearly as awe-inspiring as autoflavour's but progressing nicely.
I have a really tight hybrid setup now using CV tools in Ableton and the Expert Sleepers ES-9 audio interface module in the rack. Everything in Ableton can be run through the modular - CV pitch and gate sequences from Ableton into oscillator / envelope modules, audio tracks from Ableton into modular effects and back into Ableton. Outboard synths via USB midi. The flexibility is nuts. And weirdly, no syncing or latency issues. None.
I'm also awaiting a MI Beads and an intellijel Dual ADSR and I'm trying to shift the 1010 Bitbox sampler to fund a Morphagene.
- (Usually a lot more patch cables plugged in but I just last night I shifted things around a bit and had to unplug half of them.)mort_
- nice.. some fun bits of kit there.. I haven't really ventured too far into Ableton interaction past simple midi clock out. I'm a bit of a luddite in that regardautoflavour
- im a little on the fence about the intellijel ADSR.. I think I just need a bit more time with it, but its not been what I was anticipating out of the box yetautoflavour
- and yep, beads.. fuck.. I ordered that in March.. but foolishly clicked land shipping from Canada.. its on a boat somewhere.. slowly making its way.autoflavour
- didn't even leave Canada until late mayautoflavour
- what's driving your quad vca? I just picked up a quadrax the other day to replace my quadra.. can recommendautoflavour
- Using the envelopes on Tides and Peaks with the VCA as stop gap while I wait for the dual ADSR. Is it the lack of CV control on the ADSR that you didn’t like?mort_
- Quadrax looks pretty awesome.mort_
- @auto if your audio interface has DC coupled outputs, you’re good to go with CV tools. My Focusrite didn’t so had to change it for the ES-9.mort_
- Don’t have DC coupled outputs.. but it’s not like Im lacking cv .. im very much a wham bam kinda guy.. don’t go too deep on things now daysautoflavour
- It’s all super fast and loose.. record a bunch of takes and then just move on. Short attention spanautoflavour
- As for Adsr, just still getting the feel for it.. just yet to get it do exactly what I want when I wantautoflavour
- Wish I'd got the Quardax now - looks so much more versatile. I'll see how I get on when the ADSR arrives. Bought it used so should resell without losing much.mort_
- I do love the idea of sliders for ADSRs though - a visual representation of the envelope.mort_
- yeah kind of why I got it also.. look don't let me discourage you, I am still learning pretty much everything.. my to learn list for this rig is like 70% of itautoflavour
- im still trying to get my head around Marbles.. and that's not that hardautoflavour
- just picked up at RND STEP from SSF and Div Kid.. super fun. the OCHD he did also is great.. just simple random funautoflavour
- and I'm sure I am just not using the ADSR right.. or the quadrax for that matter. or any of it.autoflavour
- Yeah same. I picked up Marbles because it came up locally for a great price. It will remain a mystery until I read the manual and watch some tutorials.mort_
- Wow, Mort, you've totally gone for it. Nice set up man. So much analohgue!Ianbolton
- Cheers Ian. There's actually a healthy mix of both analog and digital in there.mort_
- I think I might have got something somewhat useful out of the marbles last night.. nothing ground breaking but at least kind of musicalautoflavour
- Nice! Now do a Marbles video ;)mort_

Great advice for planning a modular system. And that PolyGogo oscillator!!
- Yeah Polygogo is definitely on the wishlist.. but lack of hp and cash is the hurdleautoflavour
- Definitely recommend the bloom.. such an under rated little sequencer.. not as immediate as the metropolis.. but so much deeperautoflavour
- Ordered the Polygogo. I think I’ll probably sell the Rubicon. Also have a Quadrax on the way.mort_
- Bloom looks good alright.mort_
- autoflavour1
So, part impatient part fear, one of the few modular dealers here in Australia finally got stock in again of the Mutable Instruments Beads.. and while I ordered one in March which Canada Post still tells me is coming, part of me kind of knows it’s probably never going to arrive and will end up as in insurance claim..
Anyway.. long story short, I just doubled down on the MI beads.. without ever actually playing with one (or a clouds for that matter)
- My Beads is in transit, arriving Friday hopefully. I think the originals of MI modules will increase in value now that Emilie is out of the game.mort_
- Production runs will dry up eventually. Put that second Beads (if it arrives) in a safe for your grandchildren ;)mort_
- Clouds is magnificent. Everyone should have one. The expanded versions like Monsoon give more hands-on controls.microkorg
- beads and clouds were one of the reasons I wanted modular.. and yet, both own neither yet. hopefully they arrive before civilisation collapses.autoflavour
- I just had a Monsoon on its own. Single module eurorack at one point. Used to run allsorts through it. Kids loved fucking about with it and mic too.microkorg

Stayed up way too late this weekend to make a self indulgent mess of a track https://soundcloud.app.goo.gl/cL…
- autoflavour0
- sell some modular.autoflavour
- Loving Beads. It has given my Bitbox sampler a new reason to exist.mort_
- I'm loving beads too. oddly, mine doesn't fit in the eurorack format :Pfuturefood
- ended up selling the second beads to a friend of mine yesterday.. gaping hole in bank left by Zen delay needed filling alasautoflavour
- autoflavour0
- No CV control though?mort_
- yeah, complete oversight if you as me.. everything else is fucking amazing thoautoflavour
- Ianbolton2
After spending all weekend pissing about with this I went and stayed up late again last night sorting it out. https://soundcloud.app.goo.gl/EK…
