prophetone,
Man I can so relate to you it's not even funny, both in trying to justify buying stuff like that, and in trying to act like you've always had it. I'm that way with snowboard stuff every season: "Look, I HAD to get new bindings because my old ones were 'breaking.'" Or "The board I've been riding a lot isn't letting me turn as fast, or it gets bumpy at 45 miles an hour." LOL
- hey it's called marriage. and sometimes in marriage you have to have 'strategies' re toys.prophetone
- my father-in-law is in on it and we have secret "swag" purchases that he makes on my behalfprophetone
- ...which are then smuggled in to my garage sale of a studio, cloaked in chaosprophetone
- if discovered you never, ever admit defeat and that thing has been there 'forever' hun relax.prophetone

the amount of gear i have smuggled into the studio its obscene..
never been as ballsy to try a 40 channel mixer tho.

- that said, i am interested to see what all this Roland hoopla will be. a good drum machine is a good drum machineautoflavour

Roland are NEVER going to get it. The people want analog ( I realize the 909 has samples). Re-create the 909 and 808 with some extra modern shit and you won't be able to keep them in stock. I'd get a machinedrum over this thing any day.
- i think you and i are those type of people. i think this gear will sell to the new people who don't care enuff.prophetone
- because sick sounds and flashy buttons and it has usb yoprophetone
- letterhead0
^^I dont get it either. Do you think they will sell this shit? Sadly I think they will, because they are still in business after 20 years of releasing this same type of thing. Don't get me wrong I'd take them all if you gave them to me, as I'm sure they are fun and will sound decent, buuutttttt come on Roland. I'd really love to know why they are resisting reissuing analog gear?
- autoflavour0
its simple.
the amount of nerds who want pure analog revival of hardware is massively smaller than the newbie EDM wannabe bedroom producers trying to be the next skrillex who dont give a shit that its digital.
Roland know exactly what they are doing.
they are not going to be able to make these things fast enough.
- its the MC303, 505, 909 all over againautoflavour
- hopefully tho, there will be a new twist or something that pushes it over the lineautoflavour

- Yes they are terrible looking. I'll take them all.letterhead
- fugly. should have looked like the originals more with a modern twist - rather than this garbage (which will sell by the bucketload regardless)fadein11

- holy shit, totally missed this one. love the VT-1... this is £159. may drop the price of the originals...kingsteven
- autoflavour0
to be honest, the TR 8 is vaguely interesting.. the System 1 is kind of interesting.. the rest meh.
but the prices are so damn cheap, the TR 8 is probably on the buy list just for the fun
- kingsteven0
yeah, could see myself getting the TR-8 and VT-3.
- vt-3 to sing like Cher, yeah?

oh sure, nowww all you sons of bitches are interested in this gear... haha
- no, not interested. the bulk of it is rubbish.. curious about the TR-8 thoautoflavour
- me too re TR-8, cheap enough, useful enoughprophetone
- fadein110
Horrible product design with little nods to their parents... all for the kids... the dre 'phones of synthesis. Do not understand it. Save up and buy a real one, a real analogue one.
- or download a free soundbank of which i have about 10fadein11
