Just did sound check on the loudest system I have played on.. Also trying something new tonight, running the master out thru a RNC 1773 compressor before it hits the mixer. Holy shit it makes so much difference. Without its muddy and flaccid and with it it's like being punched in the face with kickdrum. It's night and day.

Also I'm getting all tricky. I have my laptop running my vj setup and it being triggered from midi sequences in the octatrack. Im feeling kinda boss at the moment

Going to install Yosemite on my gf's machine tomorrow, test out all my software on it and see if it runs smoothly before making the jump.
Also got a Launchpad S the other day, gonna get into Ableton for live stuff. Logic X will always be my composition tool though.

Auto - one of my mates got an A4 the other month and i'm insanely jealous. I'd have to sell a shitload of stuff to fund one as the wife just wouldnt let me go out and get one.
It's meant to be a bit of a beast to get your head round as with all Elektron gear.Did you know that the Akai Rhythm Wolf is now out in the shops?
I'd been thinking about getting a volca beats to go with my volca bass but think I might go grab a Wolf.- yeah, its been a massive tease for me at the moment, i have been so busy with work i have barely had a chanceautoflavour
- I really want to love it, but its also a lot of cash if i dont.. there is a 30 days return policy with Thomannautoflavour
- my plan is to put it thru its paces before that time comes.. i would hate to send it back just by defaultautoflavour
- yeah I wanted the Wolf, ended up with the Volca for my kid..autoflavour

Went out to buy a Akai Rhythm Wolf this weekend only to find them sold out locally so came home with an Arturia Beatstep.
Pretty cool old fashioned style step-sequencing.

anyone played live with ableton alongside their set? ie. loading video clips and having them play on a projector? going to do some tests tomorrow... Though seems clunky... especially when first getting on stage, turning projector option as as a second screen (everyone will see as as initially mac laptops mirror), dragging video window over to screen, and double clicking to make full screen.
- * video with live in first sentence, sorry.inteliboy
- I vj and play at the same time, but never using live for video..
i use VDMX.autoflavour
- inteliboy0
maybe a better way, would be having a second laptop with a simple video player of some sort where we can cue clips manually... hmm.
- it depends on how much fx chains etc you have on the video.. if its just triggering, any laptop less than 5 years old should handle itautoflavour
- depends on the software and the codecs ..autoflavour
- hey auto - thanks for the tips. looking at vdmx now.inteliboy
- microkorg0
^ yup, more stable too. you dont want to be overloading processor running music and video at the same time - that's asking for trouble!
- true that.ApeRobot
- to be honest i never really had an issue, but the last time i did i was using the octatrack to control the VJ software..autoflavour

I think this goes here, purely for the method by which the audio was created.
#DRONEBONING // FEATURING TAGGART AND ROSEWOOD // NSFW »

http://totallygrossnationalprodu…"...What we do know is that The Killingest was crafted unlike any other album. With the help of an Emotiv EEG to USB brain computer interface conducted by Mark Mallman through the Logic MIDI Bridge, the synapses of their DMT-influenced brains were translated to audio and dispersed throughout the album. The result is a deeply ethereal space that Taggart & Rosewood seem to have always filled, without us ever knowing.
The album was written at 55 beats per minute, and variations thereof. An intentional pace, the tempo is a necessary choice to match the confused psychotropic universe the album invents."
