µAcid8 is a portable 8Bit bass-line synthesizer borrowing the characterful wavetable engine from acid8 and the essential elements of its highly praised step sequencer. µAcid8 features some new tricks including transposition automation, filter wobbler, stutter and vinyl spin-down effects. €99.00

- I had the original Acid8 they did. Was good fun but not '303' enough so ended up selling it. This will be a fun stocking filler tho.microkorg

another question...
has anyone even listened to all the samples from the samples from mars sale? I've just remembered to download them all and I'm noticing compressed, it's roughly 40gb
to continue rambling... I've further invested in the NI ecosphere with more expansions and battery...
I really don't know what I'm doing, i could use a lesson in music theory. pianochord.com and the camelot wheel can only help me so much
also, I received a message from musicians friend regarding my model d this morning, it may ship sooner than next friday **fingers crossed**
- you ordered a Moog model D? damn..

Musician's Friend just called me to give me a shipping update on my Behringer Model D (on the truck for delivery). They also informed me of a new gear assist program wherein I have been assigned a Musician's Friend representative.
This person has given me a phone number and email address, instructing me to contact him if I have any order or gear questions from tracking returns, general questions, or usage.
That's pretty impressive service if it comes to fruition. The only other experience I have had that could compare was with Mackie.
I once called having a question about my mixer, an employee answered the phone simply saying hello, not expecting a customer call. After a brief discussion regarding where I found the number and why he answered it, he proceeded to flawlessly assist with my issue. (user error)

Does anyone here have hands on experience with the Maschine Studio from Native Instruments?
I already have an itchy buy now finger on a Jam and while I was in Guitar Center today picking up a patch cable, I saw they had three used Studio controllers starting at $449, white +$20, w/ license +$200.
They are a few years old now and larger than the Maschine controller. Considering I have a Maschine w/ stand and a Mikro w/ license, plus some other unused to rarely used controllers, I contemplated trading away some old stuff for the Studio. (They offer 60% of going used rates.)
I recently mentioned the Studio may not be my cup of tea given my track record with the Mikro and Maschine and I may simply consider the Jam in its place.
I do prefer the UI of Ableton but the sound collection I have amassed from NI keeps me trying their interface which I have never been able to get into a production groove as I can Ableton.
Wondering if I should move forward with Ableton 10 and Push as I use 9 with an APC 40 and more often lately, an APC mini. Even those two could be traded away with the others it seems for a Studio or Jam... or Push.
This controller collection has reached peak overlap IMO and it needs to be culled or reorganized.

Imbecile,
I fell for the Maschine marketing a good few years back now too and bought a Micro. Didn't use it much, didn't gel with Maschine much. When Maschine 2 came out and the software got a load of updates I actually won a Maschine 2. Awesome! So I bought the K10 crossgrade and started investing in their soundpacks. Their soundpacks ARE fantastic.
Still didn't gel with Maschine software.
Ableton live just makes so, so much more sense to me. I came from Cubase years ago then switched to Ableton Live (cracked) in its infancy.I've thought about selling the Maschine in the past but if I do then I lose my K10 crossgrade and I like some of the synths and especially the piano and strings.
Not too concerned about the sound packs as there's something you can buy that maps all the sound packs into drum racks in Ableton Live which I keep meaning to invest in.

As the maschine sound pack (expansions) have great sounds and great preset beats I use it a lot to start off a song.
Then when the song starts to take shape I'll take time to program a beat using those sounds orsimilar. Was actually checking out eBay last night to see how much i'd get for my Maschine mk2, K10 and expansions etc and realised i'm better off keeping it all.
I'd recommend grabbing a Push2.
It does so, so much - and more!
There are rumours that a Push3 may be coming later in the year.I thnk you know deep down that if you've not "got" maschine before then you prob still wont gel with it.

I think you're right microkorg, I've given Maschine's interface so much time and effort but nothing sketches together as quick as Ableton for me.
That said... I bought a Maschine Jam sans license, (I already have 2 licenses) for an incredible deal. I'll probably invest in Ableton 10 before summer, then just wait for a Push 2 unless I find a great deal on one or a bundle in the meantime.
I think I'm going to trade my Mikro w/ license and Maschine w/ stand (plus whatever) away for the Studio just to update that gear and reduce clutter.
Redeeming features of the Jam I'll be using out of the box are the step sequencer and pattern selection buttons. I had learned to do both in Ableton with the APC and found creation to flow smoothly from there.
In the end, cost and availability influenced the Jam decision leaving me leaning toward the Studio upgrade.
Thanks again for the input microkorg.

I saw this on Facebook yesterday and couldn't find it again. Luckily found it on YouTube just now. @ 40 seconds, this is the dumbest, most hyperbolic fluff I think I've ever seen to promote a musical instrument. He says "so the Grandmother... struck me immediately... as the kind of synth, that you just turn it on, and it's set up in such a way, that you just make music." + Wrrrrrrrpppppp
It just mind-numbingly funny because there's nothing unique about it that lends to "just making music" any differently than any other keyboard or synth. Really. There's no unique proposition to this synth in terms of making music compared to any other synth. It just does stuff differently.
- Sustain on fader is "cool", he says "as its a different way to affect the sound without turning a knob". Lol - wtf!?!microkorg
- In the sea of monosynths that are currently available, this one is probably at the very bottom.section_014

Maschine Software is Trash
Working on a chill little hip-hop beat the other day with some old recorded MIDI...
Didn't save yet, obviously no auto-save. Project lost.
It's recorded MIDI and I remember the kit I began working from, so no absolute loss yet.
I begin again, but even getting the MIDI in then sorting it out to sketch again is tedious and taking too long. I get some going and the Jam will simply not sketch ideas without several button interactions. Even the UI won't let me edit / rearrange clips with any ease. I have to turn off sound preview before I can reorganize my instruments / sounds? So many clicks!
Performance record legato performances between clips? Not a chance... with Maschine.
Totally frustrated, I unplug the Jam, close Maschine, launch Ableton and plug in the APCmini.
Ableton welcomes the task.
Drag the MIDI to an instrument.
Click fold to quickly sort the note locations.
Click fold again to see the entire keyboard.
Move necessary notes.
Begin making clips.
Press record.
Begin performing clips.
Enjoy playback.I had recorded a "performance" within Ableton after recreating what I was working on in Maschine before the Jam had fully powered down.
The sounds are great NI. Maschine is garbage.
- "The sounds are great NI. Maschine is garbage." - yup.microkorg
- My friend is sending me Maschine 1 because I mentioned I was going to buy that $100 akai finger drum pad. I was looking for a simple grilled cheese...canoe
- ..but it looks like I will get a triple decker club sandwich... should I be worried... I just want to program drums with my hands rather than with the mouse.canoe
- Advise please...canoe
- He gave it to me for free, but I bought him $100 worth of records, the same cost as what I would have paid for the Akaicanoe
- that works as a MIDI controller for any DAW, you can definitely use the kits inside Maschine to record yourself finger drumming beats and melodies.imbecile
- https://www.youtube.…imbecile
- I know it's capable... just wondering if it's going to be stupidly difficult to deal with.canoe
- Depends, if you're not already used to a different DAW, you might take to Maschine's interface. I'm so used to Ableton, Maschine is too different a workflow.imbecile
- If maschine is your first software then you might like it especially if youve just come from the small screens of MPCsmicrokorg
