people will be attacked for their Apple Watch. A watch is visible at all times. Not like an iPhone in a pocket or a bag.
Look everyone! I have a watch on the wrist that worth $600!! Look!
I would take it off when taking the subway and in certain area of the city.
- yeah, people get attacked in public for their nice watches all the timemonospaced
- like this dude getting knocked for his iPhone in Montreal a few years ago, check the video: http://www.lapresse.…benfal99
- good link: http://www.lapresse.…benfal99
- @mono, for the new trendy APPLE watch, yesbenfal99
- That attack would involve unbuckling the band and then unpairing the Watch from the owner's phone. Probably a pain in the ass, espeically in public.monospaced
- makes more sense to steal a rolexGnash
- The thing with Rolex's and other "normal" watches is they could be fake, and they also aren't as recognizable or obvious.iCanHazQBN
- If someone's wearing the Apple Watch, they KNOW it's the real thing and they KNOW exactly how much it's worth.iCanHazQBN
- exactlybenfal99
- A stolen Watch is almost useless I believe with the security features built in. It won't work without a code, etc.monospaced
- A lot of thuggish criminal people aren't very hi-tech and are not aware of all the security features. They will just steal it anyway thinking there would beiCanHazQBN
- some way to get into the device, or they will sell it to someone who already can (or is willing to try) to get into the device.iCanHazQBN
- zaxtlybenfal99
- Sure, I guess you can add this item to the list of quadrillions of items in existence that can and will be stolen.monospaced
- how many other items have this much buzz around them? this is probably top of the list. The latest magical product from the most famous company. it's incrediblyiCanHazQBN
- recognizable, and people will be flaunting it 24/7 in front of everyone by wearing it on their wrist.iCanHazQBN
- I mean the likelyhood of yours actually being stolen is not that great. But relative to other products, it's an extremely vulnerable target.iCanHazQBN
- I'm not saying don't buy one because it might get stolen. But don't be surprised if it does.iCanHazQBN
- I guess you're right. I can't turn on the news without hearing about people being accosted for their Samsung watches every day. LOLmonospaced
- People were also attacked when the iPod was cool. Some teenagers just bought the white Apple earphones and wore them without a player..mekk
- lvl_130
would you take it off to fight a tiger though?

Prepare yourself for a stock drop after the watch doesn't meet whatever low expectations they have to have for it. Then buy when it's cheap before they build a car and rise again.
- yep - cannot wait for the bendy, slimmest, lightest, most expensive car in the world.fadein11
- too late

- Watch Samsung's stock price soar as people flock to their far superior devices.monospaced
- "far superior" is more like "similar quality but economically priced"Miguex
- It'll be interesting. Apple is betting their future on this. Giving employees 50% off was a smart move, get them out there.formed
- samsungs stuff costs exactly the same as apples stuff.inteliboy
- LOL. betting their future on this? Who gave you that ridiculous idea?monospaced
- benfal993
- i like the part with the guy at the bar with a friend. paying attention to nothing because of the watch. lolbenfal99
- Seems like an opportunity for a watch that is NOT connected. All looks good if it were lighter, not reliant on the phone, faster...conclusion is waitformed
- I think it'll take years to figure out what exactly a "smart watch" should do and how. Also, that timeframe may reveal we don't need them at all.monospaced
- At that point tech will allow for smaller and faster watches with all kinds of new things. I say this is a decent start, but I'm not sold on one for nowmonospaced
- It's a cool experiment. When we can really divide the categories I think they'll catch on. A "real" fashion watch doesn't need a billion bells and whistlesformed
- and a good fitness watch just needs gps, no connection needed and durability (their sport bands, etc., look good, but the watch doesn't fit)formed
- so I agree with you :-)formed

- what an obnoxious videointeliboy
- Cute enough.********
- didnt even do much and watch almost dead by 7pm. awesome.CygnusZero4
- Rupert Murdoch. Ugh.TOMMYxGUNN
- at the gym by 5 from your new york job? seems unlikely.sarahfailin
- looks gigantic and awkward_niko
- I earlier come need on the video but I think the watch is a decent 1.0 device.********
- Come need= commented. #fthisautospell********
- I live in another world and am happy about it.SimonFFM
- This confirms my suspicion that the watch will probably be a flop. Are people really going to spend $400 for the stuff seen in this video?yuekit

I QUIT: WHAT REALLY GOES ON AT APPLE
Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma — which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of others’ opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary. – Steve Jobs, June 12, 2005.

- I'm using an iPhone 4S. I have never had a tablet and only own one Mac. So fuck off already with the ancient jokes.monospaced
- I think these lines are just as ridiculous as you, and I would never buy their newest shit. Nonetheless, it's impressive and profitable.monospaced
- You never owned a tablet? You were talking about your ipad just laying around on the couch. You really are a lying piece of shitpinkfloyd
- My company got the 1st Gen iPad several years ago, and I used it for a few months. Are you talking about back then?monospaced
- I have never mentioned having one lying around on the couch, except for perhaps wanting one, so please don't call me a liar. I am not one.monospaced
- I hear noise from far more haters than any of these "sheep" people always talk about.inteliboy

Just swung by the Apple store at the local mall, my thoughts...
Watch - people are going to rationalize why they need one. It looks cool, finish is Apple, too thick for my taste and I can't justify it. It'll be a huge hit to teens, I think, but beyond that I don't know. By v.3 it should be thin enough that I'd use one for fitness, but that's it.
Still too geeky for my taste/style.MacBook - it'll be a huge hit, I think. No one cares about processors or ports, it just looks nice. If it had a touch screen I'd like it 1000x more. For me, Dell is nicer (too cheesy for my taste - all these gold, etc., colors) and more professional.
S6 - I looked at an S6. Not working models, but I guess they should be the same. I was not impressed. Apple's fit and finish is far superior. Hugely disappointed. If it was the S5 it would have change everything, but it's catchup now.
Now I pray Lenovo's Windows phone lives up to the rumor renderings. HTC and Samsung are hanging in there, but missed a chance to gain the crown again.
My 2 cents
- iPhone6 was the biggest catch up product in years... Apple caught up, the competition doesn't need to.
I agree about finish though - they kill the competition.fadein11

Already sold out until June
- They had very limited supplies, it's not necessarily because of demandformed
- creating a fake sold out creates a buzz. marketing 1.0benfal99
- and keeps it safe for WallStreet - no one really knows what they'd have sold if they didn't make people wait...we won't know for at least 6months+formed
- If this was a fake supply constraint then why hasn't another company attempted it to boost sales. Oh wait. Lolmonospaced
- not fake, just part of productionformed

I don't have the exact numbers as I glanced over an article on the walk up.
900,000+ pre-orders for the iWatch already. (maybe in one week?)
For comparison, 700,000 Android watches sold all of last year.
This will most likely be the downfall of Apple. I'm selling everything today.

Is it possible to change the band on the sport model? So if you buy black, can you switch it to blue later on?
- Nope. Once you go black, you can't go back.ian
