Just got back from the apple store. They arent even sure if it will be in stock in June. But man that thing is beautiful in person.
- Macbook or Apple Watch?
; )ideaist - watchCygnusZero4
- It seems to be by far their most orchestrated launch ever; perhaps the steeper learning curve than an iPhone or iPad? I've yet to see one...ideaist
- Yes, I saw people asking why they'd want or use the watch, and the customer service reps answering as clearly as possible. They're planting seeds.Jaline
- Some people are viewing this as the most poorly orchestrated launch ever. No instore availability, only online, not clear about dates and so many other detailsmonospaced
- new Apple product without campers in front of the stores? They're really changing :pmekk

I like how the first post of this thread is still accurate regardless of what year it is.

Lots of apps getting out for the Apple Watch on Product Hunt...
I want to resist but the geek in me want that watch badly

Well documented unboxing of the watch: http://arstechnica.com/apple/201…
"We bought the 42mm space gray model—we've seen a lot of "space gray" Apple products, and none of them is quite the same shade. The iPhone's coating is a bit lighter, the iPad's and MacBook's are a little darker, and the Apple Watch's is actually closer to the darker black color used in the iPhone 5. Not a big deal, just keep it in mind if you were really hoping your iPhone and your watch would match."
First world problem or lack of attention from a design focused corporation?
Also:
"The Apple Watch Sport comes in what we would call "a lot of box." The watch itself is buried three boxes deep, and every layer is covered with some plastic covering you need to peel off first. Apple is normally known for its minimal packaging, but not in this case."
What happened to being environmentally conscious?!
- When we stop questioning a written review of the opening of a fucking box, our doom is unavoidable.MrT

I have question. so iwatch is still a cellphone with radiation? right?
most people will have it on the body most of the time?
wouldn't it be worry some with current tests with close exposure with various frequencies should be taken into effect?I for one keep my mobile phone as much as i can from touching my body and use a headset to avoid contact. that shit is like holding radioactive devices, em i right?
so whats the radioactive specs on this thing?
- whats the radio frequency radiation specs?

- As far as I know the Apple Watch does not have any cellular capabilities like the Samsung watch. Just Bluetooth, right?monospaced
- that would not change anything, though? I also keep my phone away from me, but we are immersed in radioactivity (wifi, etc.)formed
- its true. its pollution of the info age. more devastating for children though. some people though would be effected and not even know it.yurimon
- http://emfblues.com/…yurimon
- Fucking shit. That websites purpose is to sell you a fucking CRYSTAL to neutralize Bluetooth radiation. Retards would think this was serious.monospaced

- THats not the point. is it safe. Electronics are like the new tobacco. i'm sure there were people saying cigarettes were bad while adverts of dr's smoking.yurimon
- Evidence points to it being safe. Unless you ask a company trying to sell you crystals in which case it's unsafe.monospaced
- there was evidence that tobacco is safe once. so you tell me how it works.yurimon
- With that logic you must believe everything is dangerous.monospaced

Ive decided to hold off for the next version. I would expect some decent upgrades, and the fact is I dont need this thing at all. It was much different with the iphone and ipad, there felt like there was real uses for them (the phone moreso obviously), but this is a little different. It's just an iphone on your wrist, with less features, not really something entirely new or game changing as the suits say.
It looks ridiculously nice and ill get one eventually, but just due to not feeling a need for it, I can be patient for the next one in 2016. The other thing that helps is I own an Omega and no smart watch will ever be as nice as a watch like that. Obviously totally different concepts though.
- I guess the other annoying thing is in a few years, everyone will have these so they arent unique. I still havent seen another person in public wearing an omegaCygnusZero4
- ... which is kinda cool.CygnusZero4
- A watch is more of a fashion statement than a phone or anything like that. So when half the planet has the same watch, dunno thats kinda weird to me.CygnusZero4
- Please don't tell us you would replace the your Omega with an iFad??! Blasphemy!
These will never look like more than a cool calculator watch.formed - Hell no not replace. I meant as a secondary watch. Just pointing it out that the apple watch will become very common.CygnusZero4
- I heard they sold 10 million already :|CygnusZero4
- Yup, just like calculator watches ;-). It'll be a huge hit, but will eventually be nothing more than a gadget, unlike the Omega, which is class and timeless.formed
- The Apple Watch will look better or get thinner with time. I have no need for a watch when it comes to trying to make a fashion statement. I'd rather have aJaline
- real use for it on my wrist. As it stands now, whenever I wear a watch I forget that I have something that tells time and I check out my phone anyway.Jaline

I think with every OSX update, they purposely do things to make your computer slower so you'll get a new one.
I've been running the same programs and doing the same processes on my laptop for years. Since downloading Yosemite, now every process is so slow and the fan is literally running the entire time I'm using my laptop.
- check your running processes in Activity Monitor when those fans go, you might find a specific culpritmonospaced
- ^apple carepinkfloyd
- burn!monospaced
- Yosemite has actually made my computers snappier. Best update so far.ArmandoEstrada
- Same here, I updated yosemite on my desktop and its super slow, so I won't be doing it on my laptop. I don't even know why I fell for the yosemite update tbhMiguex
- It's like theres not a single positive reason for me to update to yosemite, other than the risks of breaking what was currently functioningMiguex
- I think they absolutely do this with iOS updates.mg33
- Really unbelievable. The fan never stops running since downloading Yosemite. Even when no programs are running.iCanHazQBN
- It's a laptop from mid 2011. I think Apple knows how old this computer is and they put in a line of code in Yosemite that says something like:iCanHazQBN
- Computers made on [X date or older]: "activate fan".iCanHazQBN
- In the Activity Monitor, sort by CPU usage and see what's causing it.monospaced
- It could also be indexing for the first time...monospaced
- lol. the thing using the most usage is... Activity MonitoriCanHazQBN
- interesting, if you don't have a process causing the heat/fans, it could actually be a dirt problem blocking the ventsmonospaced
- Also consider an SMC reset.monospaced
- I had a similar fan issue - i tried all kinds of software fixes and hacks. Ended up being the hardware. Lucky Apple gave me a bill of $0 to fix it.inteliboy
- I never thought it might be dirt! Could be. I will google SMC reset cuz I have no idea what that it. Thanks!iCanHazQBN
- Yosimite has these crazy blurred overlays like iOS now, and it does a shit ton of processing for open windows. "WindowServer" was running 100% CPU all the time.rosem
- I got it down to 10% by turning on "Reduce Transparency" in Settings > Accessibility. http://d.pr/i/1eTiy — everything seems normal again.rosem
- No joke. It shouldnt really ever go over 2% unless you have some incredibly ancient machine. Mine never tops .5% and I tried to overload it.monospaced

QBNers is the target market for the Apple Watch and no QBNers bought it?
well well well
- Speak for yourself.fadein11
- you're not a man between 25 and 45 y-o already owning an iPhone and working in a creative field?Ben99
- I'm gonna wait it out. A new gadget will be fun... but not sure if I'd use it often.inteliboy
- Apple do not make products solely for people in a creative field these days... and nope, no iPhone.fadein11
- CygnusZero40
^ I dont think that really says much. The aWatch sold like 10 million already, so whoever theyre targeting, which obviously is apple fans, are buying it. This site is just a very tiny slice of that group so it doesnt mean much that so few here got it, if any, who knows.
- since you need a new iPhone to use it, that would explain why current customers are the market right nowmonospaced
- how many versions before it doesnt need an iphone? not that it matters. i dont go anywhere without my phone.CygnusZero4
- let me check my time machine ;)monospaced
