Do any of you eat sauerkraut? My grandparents were German (not sure if that's a German thing or not) but ate it (and whole foods, and liverwurst) all the time and I didn't mind it too much. anyway, had no idea about its nutritional benefits
- Did not know. Love it on hotdogs. Will def eat way more hot dogs now. Thanks for the health tip.nb
- I make it pretty oftenscarabin
- Sauerkraut is awesome. When I have a bit more space, I want to ferment my own.Continuity

Half a lemon juice into a glass of water. First thing every morning or your life. Do it it's very good for you. I started last week.

- What are you talking about? Orange juice is acid for teeth not half a lemon in a full glass of waterBennn

If you believe in detoxing you might as well buy an orgone pyramid.palimpsest - i dont give a fk about detoxing. Its more about getting a dose of vitamin C and fresh water.Bennn

Any other of you have psoriasis? I've had it for year, and I'm using these stupid steroid ointments and gels to clear it up.
The one thing I'm never sure of is how long to leave them on the skin. All of the dermatologists I've ever seen keep telling me, 'as long as you can,' but that really doesn't tell me much.
If I need to get dress and go out, and I've got this shit on my elbows or hands, well, that's grease stains on my clothes.
Grr. What's the minimum amount of time these things should stay before wiping off?
- *had it for yearsContinuity
- I get it, but then sometimes it just fucks off for no reason.Ianbolton
- Those hydrocortisone creams are the worst for greasiness. More grease than a 50's heart throbs hair style!!Ianbolton
- I've had it for years too and have seen improvement this year (despite unusual stress). I've given up on the Daivobet cream and its cortisone, and instead wentspl33nidoru
- Yeah, they're awful. It'd be nice to leave them on for, say, 30 min, wipe them off, then get on with your day. Urgh.Continuity
- Dont have it myself, but Ive heard there is a cure, a series of injectionsdrgs
- the natural route with allepo soap (the less fancy the better) + psoriasis specific herbal tea (1L of it a day) + exercice (even just 1h walks).spl33nidoru
- Continuity, if you go on using the ointment, better to use it at night so you sleep through the greasiness, and use regular moisturising cream in the morning.spl33nidoru
- Yeah, the problem is it will rub off on my sheets/duvet anyway. Then I'll have greasy stains on that, too. Ugh. Psoriasis and its treatment is balls.Continuity

Bought this thing for my back
The only thing which helps with my backpain. We have one at the gym, but since the gyms are closed my back has never been worse...
If this does not help, I'm calling the police. In my experience, roman chairs (horizontal) are better than hyperextension (angled ones):
If you don't have a roman chair, reverse hyperextension on a table second best thing:
- You have to walk around with that attached to your back?Gnash
- watdrgs
- Howd it go?GuyFawkes
- 80% improvement. I've used it before, so I know it works for me. But you have to build yourself up gradually. I was really sore in my hamstrings the first daysdrgs
- Erector, glutes, hamstrings, all work together. If one of them is tight or weak, or out of balance versus opposing muscles, somehow it leads to backpaindrgs
- One theory I had was that these tiny muscles get tight from inactivity

Anyhow, keep your back toneddrgs

At the start of this year I realised that lockdown and a massive reduction in variation is a great way to reset habits. I've only drank twice so far, stopped having extra sugar / bread / meat and drinking yards of lemon infused water on the daily. Already feel better.
I always used to be on planes and eating dunkin doughnuts breakfast sandwiches at departure gates with sugary coffee, and while I'd cut of my own ear to do that again, i must say that its worth taking advantage of the forced lack of variables to improve habits.

Currently experimenting with not eating dairy products as I correlated two days of awfulness with previous night's cheese consumption.
Apparently lactose intolerance is something that can develop in later years, or because of a variety of different reasons.
I'm going to be pretty cheesed off if I am indeed intolerant of dairy produce - i'm like a quarter cheese by wet weight. Hate to say it though - I've been feeling a lot better this last few days.
- Priorities... I'd rather feel bad than stop eating cheese. What's life without chesse and wine?OBBTKN
- "What's life without cheese and wine"... Err, I'm going to print a shirt with thisOBBTKN
- Yeah, I'm hoping it's just a glitch - it's surprisingly hard to avoid cheese, at least in my usual routines. I keep catching myself about to founder...Nairn
- Like, even with th emorning cheese crepes for my kid - i don't like crepes, but if she leaves some, it's straight into my mou.. oh. No, it's not.Nairn
- Of all diary products, cheese has probably the lowest content of lactose
Lactose is a carbohydrate, cheese is just fat + proteindrgs - One of the 'episodes' was me glugging a load of milk, which was made the correlation flicker into mind, but thta's GREAT to know (!) :)Nairn
- *which was what made, ffs.Nairn
- you probably just had an overdose. keep it easy in dosing, forget bout that intolerance google bs.uan
- pretty sure I've developed it. Can have it in my tea but half a glass of milk in the evening fucks me up overnight.Fax_Benson
- On the contrary
https://bcdairy.ca/m…drgs - drgs is right about cheese being low lactose. Emmentaler, for example, is more or less lactose-free.Continuity
- Even a soft cheese like Camembert will have a really low amount of lactose.Continuity

Has anyone else started running when the lockdowns kicked off (or were runners before)? I used to be mostly off and on, and then once the lockdowns started I began running regularly, but I would sometimes go a few days in between.
Then in August, we got a dog who we thought was a Lab mix. Turns out he's more likely a purebred English Pointer.. and if you're not familiar with the breed their exercise needs are off the fucking charts. So now I'm running at least every other day. If I don't get him out for runs then I'm afraid he may leap through a window, or chew the children's faces off.
I haven't been in this good of shape since high school!
