'Glass isn't transparent enough'
The comment on a render. From an architect. Glass, at angles will appear solid and reflect whatever is on the exterior - fucking shocking, I know. But that's how materials work, architect. I mean, architect, i'm only the 3D guy - what the fuck do I know about material properties, IOR values, physical lighting, and cameras, and sunlight.
So now i'll render it without the glass and have no reflections and then they'll bitch that it doesn't look real.

For *massively* screwing up a render. Set the model up how I wanted it, did some quick region tests, no obvious problems. Sweet... Started it at around 5:30 when I left the office - it'll be done for when I come in today I thought. 15-16 hours will be plenty...
How so fucking wrong I was. Wrong like using a wrench as a dildo, wrong like house slippers. 16 hours later and it had done about 15%... FUCK! Civilisations have risen and fallen in less time than this fucker would take to complete. Of course I made juvenile, schoolboy, errors with the materials and render settings - neither of which I even bothered optimsing in my race to get thing finished. Not like I haven't done that before, but it never resulted in render times that would make Stephen Hawking pull a fucking endo.
So after lots of severe cunting about and tinkering, it's fixed and speeding along nicely. it has rendered in 90 minutes what it previously took about ten to do. Jesus fucking Christ.

The client who I did the image for.
The render I mentioned in my rant before went exceedingly well. Just over 5 hours, near to what i estimated. So now I know what settings to use if I need to pull something out (relatively) quickly.
Anyway. I get in early this morning and immediately start Photoshopping, with a self-set deadline of around lunch / 1pm. Get it sent around 12:45. Client comes back and says they're not going to use it because the double-height window (approx. 8m) for the car showroom apparently 'looks small' and that the design for the facade needs to be revised. Fuck these mugs.

My parents are safe so far cause around their house there's no trees and the fire hasn't reach the center of the village yet.If the wind helps the fire cross to the other side they will be surrounded.
