Anyone got the Korg Volca trio?
What do you reckon?I'm thinking of getting my hands on all three as a sketchbook to use away from the computer. The alternative (around the same price) is a second hand Teenage Engineering OP-1.
- Got the beats, which I love. my GF has informed me not to buy the synth as i'm getting one for christmas. :-Dkingsteven
- Stock only officially hits the UK this week... I've been told the previous shipment (in may/june) sank!kingsteven

Anyone know of any battery powered mixers that would be truly portable alongside small devices like ipad and volcas etc?
There's a battery powered Behringer mixer but it's pretty big
http://www.behringer.com/EN/Prod…The iRig Mix only offers two inputs
http://www.ikmultimedia.com/prod…It doesn't have to be IOS compatible it could be standalone.
Say, 3 or 4 stereo inputs.
- the behringer seems pretty small to me. you may get something smaller without faders.kingsteven
- if you're running in to a mixer or amp afterwards you could use a passive stereo mixer...kingsteven
- http://www.studiospa… .. saves a bit of space. but still, you're better off with an active mixer IMHO.kingsteven

Kingsteven, it was just for a makeshift way of having a portable setup.
I've bought one of these
http://www.musicstore.com/en_EN/…
so i can have the volca (or other external) feeding into ipad then take sound out from ipad. This allows 2 things playing at once.
To get more instruments playing I could maybe daisychain iPFaces ;)- yeah, that seems to be a hands free kit with a jack socket. a powered mixer is your best bet...kingsteven
- this: http://www.juno.co.u… is supposedly a great soundcard for the iPad.kingsteven

A remix I just did for my friends band Poliça:
- autoflavour0
in the end, the guy with the OB-12 was a complete fuckaround.
seriously, if you list something on craigslist to sell, and you have someone wanting to actually buy it from you.. dont fuck them around. tried for 4 days to make appointment..
each day, got bumped to "tomorrow"in the end, i told him to jump.
which turns out to be a win for me..
a friend just sold me one of these for 500 euro..- CL can be flakey sometimes. People are people. Some are just idiots. But I've had lots of good transactions.prophetone
- the worst are when something is freshly listed and you email em and they don't even bother to respond, ever.prophetone
- Keep us up to date on how you get on with the OT.microkorg
- yeah, i dont know what his deal was.. if you want to sell something, then fucking sell it
autoflavour - anyway, interested to see how the OT plays out.. its been a while since i owned a samplerautoflavour
- some OT's are going very cheap on UK eBay. I'm tempted. I think its cos ...microkorg
- .. theres a steep learning curve with them. Poeple buy then get put off by the manual.
microkorg - yeah, i am thinking this will take me a while
autoflavour
- autoflavour0
- picked up the OT, then the Freqbox.. its been a synth kind of afternoonautoflavour
- have fun!prophetone

can't remember if we had a DJ thread, but I can't find it.
I've been reluctant off and on to get into mixing thru either tracktor or serato, but thinking I should once again do it because it's becoming the standard for most clubs and gives you better ability to choose songs on the fly.
Here's what I got: pioneer DJM 600, CDJ1000's, and likely a new mac book pro. Which software do you all prefer and I think I would have to have an audio interface because there aren't midi/usb outputs on my mixer or decks. What do you think my best set up is?
- to clarify, i've always mixed analog and recorded thru my outputBANKattack
- i use Serato SL2 and it's the bomb. i don't rock out in clubs anymore but it's 100% imo.prophetone
- i use a vestax 05 pro iv right now
http://www.vestax.co…prophetone - i think they're both 100% but if you are also looking at the NI toys as well maybe traktor is the way to go?prophetone

the new Serato with a Pioneer DJM-900
