new abledroid on the horizon..
not sure I can handle 199 euro for an upgrade..
I want some serious ball fondling for that sort of cash..- yeah but grain synthesishans_glib
- ....and the remember last MIDI notes playedkeewee
- 199 upgrade from Live9?
I noticed if you buy 9 now (with 20%off) you get a free upgrade to 10.
Thinking about selling my 9 licence and starting fresh! lol.microkorg - could you not do automation like that before? or have multiple midi tracks overlaid? may be time to jump to Logic :)fadein11
- I got suite, so its 199 euro pre order.. or 250 later. just picked up Serum so I'm ok for wave table at the moment..autoflavour

^^^ I've been wanting to drop Logic in favor of Ableton for a while. Was REALLY hoping these cats would implement a good multi-take/comping feature for recording live instruments.
But, I didn't see it listed anywhere.
- why not hit record and jam within an audio clip? It is pain for sure, but deal-breaker?keewee
- If you record a lot of guitar/bass/drums, it's so much more cumbersome vs Logic (and every other DAW). Especially when tracks build up.section_014
- on the subject... does anyone know if you can move multiple comp sliders in logic? been doing rough edits then flattening and fixing the regions. killing me.kingsteven
- doing guitars with 2 amps/ 4 mics and loosing the will to live right nowkingsteven
- ahh, fuck just got it with google! group the channels and enable region selection edit for the group. logic is great again, carry on.kingsteven
- DO IT.. Ableton is amazingautoflavour

110 BPM bass line inspired by I guess Adrian Hour. That rolling triplet thing. Made with the iMaschine app

Finally finished another new track. Feel like I'm finding my sound a little more at the moment and happy with where it's taking me. :-)

Got a real weird effort on the go at the moment, but not sure where it's going!
- nice. for me personally the harsh metallic synth sound that runs throughout is too high in the mix. perhaps needs softening a bit either with less volume or afadein11
- touch of reverb. but thats just me. the pads etc. behind are lovely and feel a bit lost.fadein11
- love the sample as wellfadein11
- Thanks man. Appreciate the feedback. Still learning!Ianbolton

Another new track. https://soundcloud.com/ianpaulbo…
This is the weird one which I really don't know what to do with, apart from let it go and get on with more stuff.

Native Instruments is having a big sale right now. I picked up Reaktor at 50% off. Man, blocks is really good.

^^^ http://www.cheaperpedals.com/
I know these are all rip-offs, but most everything in pedals is a rip-off of some sort. $200 for a pedal is a lot of money. Especially, when you crack one open and realize it's a piss easy DIY job with like 12 components. Even for a noob.

allproducts39Usual cost would be $1,181
This is a deal not to be sniffed at ;)- oooooh. thanks for sharing. just purchasing. I don't use lots of library samples but at that price be foolish not to get.fadein11
- Just make sure you enter the code otherwise you'll be paying $1,181 ;)microkorg
- ha, yep bought and downloading. superb. thanks again :)fadein11
- I wish I was making music. Such a cool collection!SimonFFM
- ++ bought. will download when homeimbecile
- I might grab this too. Can I assume it has vastly more / better percussion samples than Logic X has?mg33
- I can never find a good kick drum sound in Logic. :(mg33
- cheers, bought and dl'd... feel sorry for the buggers buying shit at full price that keep popping up on the store. "Someone from Washington ... is a sucker"kingsteven
- Bought. Thanks for the headz upsinjun
- They must be making a fair bit from this sale because i'm seeing folk talking about it and everyone is buying.microkorg
- @mg33 - great drum samples/kits in the EXS24 sampler library in Logic but I still use kits from elsewhere mainly. Try layering kicks to create better sounds.fadein11
- Check out Soniclabs Kick 2, these are deadly but nothing on that tweaky little bugger.kingsteven
- Thank you, this makes the QBN membership fee completely worth it.keewee
- i thought i was done... with several black friday deal plugin and sample pack purchases this past week... but for this price i may have to buy thisprophetone
- I got the full Soundtoys bundle on Monday. Might grab this, but have been checking out the Kuassa Amplification One for guitars:mg33

- thanks for this! have no idea if they are good or useful? but at that price quickly jumped in.inteliboy

Those of you are are Logic users, can you share some high-level details on where you put certain compressors and EQ's on individual tracks vs at the mastering level?
if it helps, I've got:
- Full Soundtoys 5
- Waves CLA Classic compressorsI'm trying to really hone in on having my environment set up well at the start of the new year to really make an effort at finishing so many bits and pieces of songs I've done for years.
Are there any additional compressors or EQ's that you absolutely recommend, either for synth or guitar tracks, or, for using on final mix / mastered tracks? I've got a tape plugin on my list of things to get, probably the Waves J37 Tape - https://www.waves.com/plugins/j3… or the Kramer Master Tape - https://www.waves.com/plugins/kr…
Really want to avoid redundancy within anything that's got a great deal right now.
- Waves 2500 is my go to compressor for bass and guitar. Not surprisingly, the API 560 goes great with it.section_014
- As far as synths/samples/etc, I don't compress anything. Logic's bitcrusher is an excellent overdrive. My goto in the box.section_014
- Thanks. Do you have any perspective on this? https://www.waves.co…mg33
- sausage fattenerimbecile
- I've read a lot of reviews, seen some good demo videos. I've got a lot more to learn but excited about tightening up my approach.mg33
- I'm all UAD so maybe not much help but outside the J37 and a couple of utility plugins I've ditched all my Waves stuff as it was really poor in comparison.kingsteven
- I have the UAD and Waves API 2500 (which I used to love) and it is insane the difference.kingsteven
- check out soundradix surfer eq and tdr nova for fixing. i'd use linear eq for sides on busses.kingsteven
- Master is usually just Linear EQ (sides only), UAD Ampex 102 for a tiny bit of saturation, Multimeter...kingsteven
- insane difference? How? I don't have any problems with mine. Compresses a signal just the way I need it to. easy to use.section_014
- the parallel processing on the UAD is the biggest functional bonus but in general i find the controls much more responsive and acts more like the original...kingsteven
- Man, don't get me fantasizing about UAD stuff again. I got enough shit!section_014
- That Waves J37 is dirt cheap right now, if I didn't already have the Kramer tape I'd snag it...prophetone
- I had the demo and liked it for what I heard. Need to learn a little bit more about how/when to use.mg33
- Sterile overly-digital stuff is so gross, so I'm big on warmth / saturation / tape to finish stuff off.mg33
- In haven't set this up yet in any form or fashion but somewhere here in my equipment pile I have my old Fostex X28H 4-track I want to experiment w/ in new yearprophetone
- Run things through it and record back in...prophetone
- Now that I've bothered to take a look, of course there's a YT vid for this!... https://www.youtube.…prophetone
- I just fuck around tills it sounds right.robthelad
- prophetone0
- hehe, didn't read me slaggin below? na, it's a great compressor. just prefer the UAD version :)kingsteven
- I've watched great reviews of both, which is why I asked the question below. I have the CLA Compressors https://www.waves.co…mg33
- UAD = hardware needed and lotsa extra $$$... one day when I'm Rick Rubin I'll shell outprophetone
- I have no doubt the UAD plugs are superior given the added hardware acceleration... one day!prophetone
- pretty hard to argue with $29prophetone
- i just geeked out and A/B'd the two, it is nuts how different they are for two plugins that emulate the same unit! both great but UAD has magic ear pixies.kingsteven
- I lust for the UAD magic, but alas, and not unlike my lust for also jumping into the euro rack addiction rabbit hole, I have to keep my distance lolprophetone
- TBH I went back and worked with the two along-side for a bit longer and the Waves held up. I don't know why but the UAD just is quicker to find the sweet spot!kingsteven
- Good to know next time I run out of DSP, which is getting to be a regular occurrence even with 8 chips running :-|kingsteven

- heh, went to one of these in old street in 2001. they released a CD that would run Supercollider runtimes on OS9 :-Dkingsteven

any of you guys have the OP-1?
I have had mine over a year now, and still can't find a way into it.. want to love it so much, and the sounds are cool.. but actually making music on it is just so inaccurate.. I just make rubbish every time..
if you have one, and can argue for it.. please do..
