The JW's have the best artwork. Truly disturbing and fascinating.

One time I got this "prayer rug" in the mail that was made of folded up paper. You were supposed to unfold it, kneel on it and pray, then fold it back up and mail it to someone else.
There was something in there about how all your dreams will come true if you used it. I threw it away.
Pretty funny.

growing up in the bible belt took it's toll:
this guy was the oral roberts of the childrens ministry:

I use to work with alot of Mormon kids back in college and I remember this one guy had this awesome shirt of Jesus. It portrayed him as a kind of super hero illustrated all comic-book style...his muscles were huge and I think he may have been ripping out of his shirt. Don't remember what it said.....

definitely a collector's treasure!- I've seen this video. I'm sure the guy means well, but he is so, so far off base it's sad.gramme

"Teleos, my one recommendation to you would be that it doesn't matter whether people online are being disingenuous or not. Since when have we Christians measured our behavior by the world's yardstick? We should always strive to be kind no matter what. Never shirk from the truth mind you, but always be kind in the delivery of it, even if people are laughing at us and asking questions that are (at least in their minds) rhetorical and only serve to make us look foolish in our belief."
I agree with you, gramme. I tend to be terse on forums and there are limitations with this mode of communication. And when people are downright demeaning, antagonistic and even threatening, it's hard to avoid bluntness in response. Though I do recognize the spiritual deception element in these discussions and I need to keep that in the forefront of my mind.

kello, isn't it natural to think that as the world evolves technologically and otherwise that even churches will take on new forms of communication and stay current? Sure you could call it marketing, but the idea is that it's spreading what the church has taught for thousands of years. I mean by that logic, we would still be hand-writing bibles one by one and only using word of mouth to spread the gospel.
I agree though, that some of this stuff is clearly over-the-top and far from the message of Jesus and Christianity. I think the "prayer rug" I posted falls under this category.

'The purpose of this page is to help YOU make a decision as to what constitutes a "Christian Martial Arts Program." Hopefully, you will be given enough here to make a proper choice.
we removed all insignias, patches, sayings, memorization, etc., having to do with the occult and other ungodly philosophies from our program format. Meditation, which is a corrupt form of prayer, is not allowed in our organization, in any form, for any reason, at any time."
In other words, we ass-raped Japanese culture to create this...
