nommm... just enjoyed my first sourdough loaf, made with native yeast captured and cultivated myself.
here's the technique:
http://slice.seriouseats.com/arc…apparently you can use the starter in anything regular yeast would be used.

Trying to finally, seriously, get committed to a better diet and regular gym workouts. I have a good trainer and it was nice that he approved of the workout I put together for myself that I can get done in about 30 - 40 minutes.
We talked nutrition and diet this week, and some of the things I'm starting to change in this process:
- Steak or some kind of protein for breakfast, 2 eggs, and some toast. He explained how it's better to start the day with a meal like this, then shift to fruits and vegetables throughout the rest of the day. Was a nice reward after a workout this morning. He said that having meat in the morning somehow helps curb cravings for sugar and sweets later in the day. That's my biggest crutch.- Taking L-Carnatine and L-Tyrosine supplements. The first helps with fat burning, the second helps with stress, which he and I figure is the biggest thing I need to change, and that affects my weight. I only weight about 190, but need to get rid of my belly fat and get down to around 180.
- I've been drinking artichoke powder with a glass of water at night and I'm keeping that up. It helps with colon health, really cleans you out, good for mental stamina and other things. If I have it in the morning, it helps with appetite suppression.
- I religiously drink an Emergen-C packet mixed with a tablespoon of gelatinized maca powder every morning, or in the afternoon. Maca is great for a variety of things - energy, skin, mood, boners, full of vitamins. He suggested I try and get more Vitamin C, so this is helping
http://www.vegkitchen.com/nutrit…- For next two weeks I'm taking a melatonin pill about an hour before bed. I fall asleep easily, but he's said this will help me sleep deeper, reset my sleep clock and make it easier to wake up for workouts in the morning.

Should I get an AIR PURIFIER, or line my bedroom/apartment with Houseplants? Anyone know about this stuff or have experience w/ em?
In a groundfloor apt and am super sensitive to cig smoke and other pollutants from outside.

I'm starting to track everything I eat during the day, supplements I take in a spreadsheet. Will help my trainer have better insight into my progress, and I do admit that it helps me take accountability for good and bad food choices. If I'm honest about it, and the spreadsheet is full of garbage, it's going to be obvious that it's not helping me at all.

3.36 miles tonight on the treadmill. Haven't run more than a mile in a year. Good God I love the feeling when your endorphins take over and some good songs keep you move moving.

The food hourglass I mentioned earlier in this thread is now translated in English. Probably the most important book you'll read in a while.

I train at 7PM on monday, wednesday and tuesday. I always take my dinner at 5PM before training. Sometimes i feel super tired during the training and someone told me its because i ate a whole dinner 2 hour before and my system is working hard to digest. It makes sense.
Do you think i should take my dinner after my training?
- I hit the gym at 9pm every weeknight. So I eat half my dinner (300cal) at 7pm and the rest (300cal) when I return.randommail
- i will do this from now onbenfal99

I track everything i eat since 3 week now with MyFitnessPal. I sync it all with Apple Health. Very cool.

I'm starting to do lunch runs. 3 miles today. I wish we could still make QBN Challenges. Those were super helpful.

We can still create challenges, but it´s not like before.
We´d need to connect as Friends using nike+ (iPhone or iPod.... site has a lot of bugs). And once we are all "Friends" we can start challenges like before.I´d like to get one challenge started with all the QBNers.
- Try Strava: http://www.strava.co…
If we get enough runners we could make a spin-off club******** - More info: http://www.qbn.com/t…********

I've been having excessively red eyes lately and decided to try out a pair of those cheesy gaming glasses. They've come a long way with styles and even have clear lenses for designers:

Pleasantly surprised at how effective they are. No eye strain and I can now work comfortably all day. I can't look at my screen for more than 5 minutes with out them. I recommend any of you who spend a ridiculous amount of time behind screens to try them out.
